Whiskey Creek Stamps
Imogen
I bought this bag of silver irridescent icicle-like stuff thinking it would blend nicely with all the kinds of colors I use the most often. Well, I have found the stuff to be a real pain. It is always full of static and sticks to everything except what you want it to. It's fine -- like having cat hair everywhere.
And anyway, if Beedz didn't work with my acetate sandwiches, why not try this stuff. A chance to get rid of a lot of it in one fell swoop.
This was also a good chance to use the wool fleece scraps left over from a felting class I had just taken. If you come from the tradition of "save everything because you might be able to use it some day" tradition, collage can really provide an avenue to clean house!
Imogen was created from the image printed on overhead acetate, the same type I use in printing the Whiskey Creek Plate Sampler.

Whiskey Creek Stamps Used
Descending Mt. Washington
Directions:
- Using Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic galactic blue, paint a quarter sheet of coated white card stock and let dry.
-
- Apply about a tablespoon of Perfect Paste Adhesive to the dry painted surface of the cardstock. Add a couple of pinches of macro pearl PearlEx and Prussian blue goauche and mix with your fingers or a brush. Press the irridescent icicle strands into the glue and top with the acetate image of Imogen. Let dry.
-
- Trim the acetate to a square and using Yes glue, paste the acetate sandwich onto the irridescent mirror paper and let dry. Arrange the acetate image and layers onto the large decorative sheet of layering paper with the blue flowers and let dry.
-
- Using a brayer, stamp the Descending Mt. Wasthington image onto glossy white cardstock with a Printworks plum ink pad. When dry, trim the stamp to the image edges and layer onto the burgundy and metalic swirled paper. Use a silver Pilot gleafing pen on the edge.
-
- Glue the decorative paper with music onto the navy cardstock. Then glue the layers with Imogen on them over the music paper. And finally, glue the stamped, layered image of Mt. Washington onto the navy cardstock.
-
- Highlight the blue flowers in the layering paper under Imogen with a mixture of golden wheat and blue Radiant Pearls to approximate the flower color of the paper. Also highlight the blue strips over the image of Imogen with Radiant Pearls.
-
- Twist the coordinating wool fibers plus some of the irridescent icicle-like material into a length of rope to fit the edge of the acetate image. Tie the ends to hold the twist. Glue down at the ends and a few places in the middle of the rope with Bond 527. When dry, glue the small silver-colored flowerettes to the wool twist with 527 glue..
-
- Highlight the navy cardstock under the twist of wool fibers with a thin wash of macro pearl PearlEx and glue down the twist of wool with 527.Then glue the red bead in the middle and top with silver glitter glue.
-
- Glue the silver colored feathers and the blue mineral chip to the upper right corner with 527 glue. Top the feather ends with seed beads and the blue mineral chip with silver glitter glue. Add glitter glue highlights around edges and corners. Cover a brass heart charm with silver glitter glue and apply.
