Whiskey Creek Stamps
Juliet
A friend game me a large dried hydrangea blossom and it's been sitting at my stamping table just waiting for the opportune project. I very much like the small four-leaf flowerettes of the hydrangea, but noticed these clusters were falling apart into individual leaves. In fact my table was littered with them.
Well, beads didn't seem to work well with my acetate sandwiches, but it seemed these leaves might make a nice addition to the mix!
Juliet was created from the image printed on overhead acetate, the same type I use in printing the Whiskey Creek Plate Sampler.

Fan Game
Plate 2 backgrounder
Directions:
- Using Winsor and Newton canary yellow ink, paint a quarter sheet of coated white card stock and let dry.
-
- Apply about a tablespoon or two of Perfect Paste Adhesive to the dry painted surface of the cardstock. Add a couple of pinches of russet PearlEx and mix with your fingers or a brush. Sprinkle with hydrangea flower petals. Arrange two green feathers to arch around Juliette's head. Sprinkle lightly with Gold Ultra Effect filings and press the acetate image of Juliet onto the wet surface. Let dry.
-
- Trim the acetate to a square and using Yes glue, paste the acetate sandwich onto the village scene paper and let dry. Arrange the acetate image and village scene on the orange cardstock and the green cardstock and glue the layers together to get the effect you want with Yes glue. When dry, glue the layered composite onto the sandy background card stock.
-
- Using a brayer, stamp the Fan Game onto glossy white cardstock with a Printworks sage green ink pad. When dry, cover the stamped image with a very thin layer of Radiant Pearls golden honey, adding a touch of Christmas rose to the edges. Cover with detail clear embossing powder and heat until set. Trim the fan and edge with a Pilot gold leafing pen.
-
- With the Whiskey Creek leaf spray backgrounder image and the Printworks sage green ink pad, stamp the outside edges of the sand colored background paper. Then stamp a few times with the Versamark watermark ink pad on the exposed edge of the green cardstock.
-
- Glue the Stamp Game image in place, the strip of Gildenglitz on laminate (a scrap from the Katherine card), and the selvedge edge from a piece of grasscloth, all with with Bond 527 glue. Glue the strips of copper screening in place as well (leftovers from the card collage swap).
-
- Twist the coordinating fibers into a length of rope to fit the narrow edge of the background cardstock. Tie the ends to hold the twist. Glue the rope down at the ends and a few places in the middle with Bond 527. When dry, add yellow feathers to the ends with Bond 527 glue, beads, and top with gold glitter glue. While working with the glitter glue, add a dab to the end of the watermarked background images on the green card stock.
-
- Take the Perfect Paste Adhesive and russet PearlEx mixture and paint a bunch of the individual hydrangea flower petals. This isn't done easily, but it's worth the effort. The leaves are so light the glue and PearlEx gums them together. You will need to stir them now and then until they are dry to keep them from being glued into one big heap. Small heaps are O.K., though. When dry, glue to the cardstock, the clumps first, then the individual leaves.
-
- Glue on the clock face and heart charms with Bond 257.
